Paintings for Peace

An exhibition of unique Persian rug oil paintings by Guity Daliri. Persian carpets are world famous for their beautiful and unique patterns, and are valued worldwide as the finest carpets in the world. Guity has created oil paintings of these traditional Persian carpets and has implemented the Greatest Holy Name, a symbol of the Bahai Faith, in the heart of the carpet, thus creating a powerful symbol of the emergence of this new faith from Iran.

Supported by The Historic Houses Trust NSW.

This touring exhibition out of the historic Meroogal home in Nowra celebrates the work of women artists in the Shoalhaven and is the sixth year at TCA.

Taking a line for a walk

Painting with Parkinsons Arts Therapy Group coordinated by John Pratt in the Atrium Gallery

Taking a line for a walk comprises artworks inspired by field trips and music in the Botanic Gardens. The theme has been taken from a quote from painter Klee's commentary on 'creative speculation'.

Rachel Develin and Caroline Riethmuller

Two artists responded to the theme of excess in our society. Rachel Develin looks at waste and Caroline Riethmuller looks at our love affair with technology. A mixed media exhibition by two popular local artists not to be missed.

Annual NAIDOC Week Exhibition

Continuing with our proud history of supporting innovative and progressive Indigenous programs, this year Tuggeranong Arts Centre will host an exceptional project, Gateways for the Anangu Youth Initiaive featuring the work of the youth and children of the Indigenous community at Fregon and the schools of Fregon and Victor Harbor.

The Annual Tuggeranong Rotary Youth Art Award

The regions longest running youth art award with over $3000 in prize money. Open to all artists between the ages of 15 and 25 residing in the ACT and NSW. Entries are due 16th August.

McCarron-Benson Wisdom

Julie McCarron-Benson

Julie continues her love affair with tromp l'oeil and domestic doors. A show that delights, confronts and imparts that special brand of "McCarron-Benson wisdom".

The works in this collection delve into a range of emotions. They are presented on internal household doors (some new, most recycled) in a variety of medium. They wander through an array of genre, from Trompe L’oeil to expressive collages.

Better World Arts

To coincide with Floriade festivities, we continue our partnership with better World Arts from South Australia and bring to Canberra, their vibrant rugs and decorative arts. A strong floral and textual theme will appeal to lovers of Indigenous art and craft and those looking for that something special for the home.

Messengers Exhibition

An exhibition showcasing the talents of our young people from the award winning Messengers group. Coupled with this will be the work of Joshua Wiffen, a youth worker from the Illawarra district.

This year Steve Brown will run a short preview of his work in the Atrium, followed by the full exhibition opening on November 11. A relative newcomer to exhibiting with a strong history in photography, this will be Steve's second exhibition at the centre
