An exhibition of sculpture and installations by Sydney artist Tracey Deep, who has been working as a floral sculptor for the last 20 years. Her practice has evolved into environmental art, working with used, industrial, organic, discarded, pre loved & discontinued materials. Revelling in the natural world, Tracey’s works reflect a poetic play of light & shade, earth textures & sensual forms, inspired by the essence of nature. Official opening by Ms Wendy Teakel, Head of Sculpture Workshop ANU School of Art.

SHOPFRONT GALLERY
The Safe place box project exhibition seeks to engage the Messengers students in thinking about the environment they live in and the different spaces they inhabit in Canberra.
Much of the physicality of the project is centered around recycling and reinventing materials to create these unique and intriguing spaces which offer a rare insight into the students life.

TRYA 2013
TUGGERANONG ARTS CENTRE AT LANYON
The annual exhibition and competition for 15 - 25 year olds in the Tuggeranong region. This year to celebrate the Centenary of Canberra, the Rotary Club of Tuggeranong are increasing their support by offering an additional $2000 acquisitive award for a Centenary themed art work. Official opening on Saturday 1 June, by Ms Joy Burch, the Minister for Arts and Young People.

FACES OF CANBERRA
TUGGERANONG ARTS CENTRE AT LANYON
Barbara van der Linden’s Canberra Centenary project is a concentrated 3 year project started in 2010 it celebrates the people of Canberra by painting their portraits and writing their stories. These people are from all walks of life, they are the people who make Canberra such an interesting and unique place to live. Barbara is endeavoring to uncovering the layers of life in Canberra through painting its people. The general Canberra community have made contributions by nominating some of the subjects for this project. By the end of the project she will have painted 30 portraits. There is an accompanying full colour publication highlighting each portrait and the portrait subject’s story.

ALEMBIC : Still life paintings by a group of Canberra artists
TUGGERANONG ARTS CENTRE AT LANYON
Alembic (noun):
1. A vessel with a beaked cap or head formerly used in distilling and by early alchemists. 2. Anything that transforms, purifies or refines.
Six Canberra artists from different backgrounds explore the essence of commonplace still life objects, whether a paper bag, a box, a nest, eggs, cotton reels or an old silver teapot. 'Alembic' is the inaugural exhibition of the Getting Group. Info on 6176 1643.
