CANBERRA DRAMATICS PRESENTS
Take Their Life
With her new husband Romeo banished from the city for murdering her cousin, and her parents baying for his blood, Juliet is desperate to escape with Romeo.
In this re-imagining of Shakespeare’s classic love story, the plan is successful, and Romeo and Juliet are free to live out their fairy tale romance. The question is, will their marriage be a happily ever after?
About Canberra Dramatics
Canberra Dramatics is a community of artists and artisans committed to the development of new plays by playwrights from the city of Canberra and the surrounding region. We also support and encourage local filmmakers and hold occasional skills workshops. We do anything, in fact, that is both local to Canberra and dramatic. That’s why we’re called Canberra Dramatics.
There are a number of ways to keep up to date with the activities of the Canberra Dramatics community:
« Visit our website, which is updated regularly with information about productions, auditions, workshops and just about anything else to do with community theatre in Canberra.
« Subscribe to our news list. Updates are sent to members periodically, whenever an opportunity to get involved comes up.
« Find us on Facebook. Photos, news and events can be found in our Facebook group.
Canberra Dramatics holds open auditions for all productions. These are advertised on our website, in our newsletter, and on the OffPrompt website. There are also opportunities for technical crew, from stage managers to lighting operators, and these are great opportunities to learn something new and get involved with a fun team. Just contact the Productions Manager to find out what opportunities might be coming up.
Canberra Dramatics is always looking for new dramatic work to produce. If you’re a playwright, you can submit plays at any time of year for us to consider for production or for workshopping. Even if you have a dramatic idea that sits outside the square, we’d love to hear it. Contact the Artistic Director, Trevar Alan Chilver, with your ideas or send him your script. It may take a while, but all ideas will be given some consideration.
