Reflections on animals, death, experience and curiosity by Julia Higgs. Exhibition opening by Dr Amanda Stuart, Environment Studio, School of Art, ANU at 6pm. Exhibition continues until Saturday 25th February
Through sculpture, drawings and print making, Higgs explores the relationship between humans and animals and our dominance over them; a dominance that is ascertained by people killing animals and eating them in excess to become stronger. Higgs says ‘I also like to explore transmutation and ransubstantiation and the concept of you are what you eat and the idea of humans becoming animals as they eat them.’
The exhibition continues until Saturday 25 February 2017.
