When:Thursday 10th October, 11am - 2pm
Looking for ideas on how you can play your part in the ‘War on Waste’?
Join recycling artist, Rachel Develin on Thursday 10th October, 11am – 2pm for a FREE public workshop ‘Design Out Waste’ in association with ACT No Waste. You will get some tips and ideas on how you can turn your ‘Trash into Trashure’
In the lead up to National Recycling Week 11 – 17 November, Rachel will be constructing a sculpture of a ‘World of Waste’ for the garden at Tuggeranong Arts Centre, and the public are welcome to join in on the construction. Most of the materials used this workshop will be found in the recycling bin, the rubbish bin, op shops, and of course The Green Shed. Participants are welcome to bring along small items of waste to be incorporated into the sculpture.
With our world choking on its own waste, not only do we need to come up with ways to re-duce and re-cycle but we can contribute to the re-duction of waste by re-using, re-pairing, re-invigorating, re-inventing, re-imagining and re-designing what we throw out.
Thursday 10th October, 11am – 2pm at the Woden Experiment, Woden Town Square.
FREE drop-in workshop. No bookings required.
