Workshop 1 (Online) – 1 hour: Thursday 2nd July, 6pm
While tablets and smartphones are great resources for consuming media they’re also amazing resources for producing your own art. Join artist Tony Curran in an introductory workshop into drawing and painting on mobile devices.
In this workshop, Curran will demonstrate the fundamentals of drawing and painting applications, orienting participants around the common features that appear in most digital drawing tools today. Using a range of free and paid Apps, Curran will demonstrate how to make new artworks by picking colours, making your own custom digital brushes, importing your own images, and using layers and colour blends.
No matter whether you’re an Apple, Android or other device user, the features covered in this workshop will be applicable to almost any drawing/painting App available to you.
This workshop will feature a remote introduction to drawing tools and will be conducted online.
Workshop 2 (face-to-face) – 1-2 hours: Saturday 11th July, 1pm
The online workshop will be followed by a face-to-face workshop at Tuggeranong Arts Centre where Tony will consult with participants about their own artwork.
Tuggeranong Lakefront, 1st to 15th August
Be part of TAC’s first ever ride-by, socially distanced “corflute” exhibition with your very own digital artwork. Using the skills learned in the workshops, create an original digital artwork and submit it to be included in our DIGITAL DRAWING CORFLUTE EXHIBITION.
Your artwork will be printed on a corflute sign and installed outside Tuggeranong Arts Centre, where audiences will view this “socially distanced” exhibition as they walk and cycle along Lake Tuggeranong.
To submit your work, simply fill out the form below and email it along with your artwork to firstname.lastname@example.org by COB Monday 20th July.
