Research shows that participation in group drumming leads to significant improvements in social and emotional behaviour. Group drumming can foster positive youth development and increase students’ self-esteem, social ability, mental health and happiness. Every week we will be running an hour long drum circle where students can learn beats and rhythms as a group. Our drumming sessions will be fun, exiting and loud. This class is a collaboration between Messengers and the YWCA’s Mura Lanyon Youth & Community Centre.
