Escape From Plastika

Join Australian Dance Party’s ‘Anti Disaster Platoon’ for a FREE school holiday dance and theatre performance!

With the help of their mission recruits (kids/parents/carers) dance heroes, Alpha, Delta and Pi, time travel to the year 2109 to planet Plastika – formerly known as Earth, and otherwise known as the playground equipment in your neighbourhood!

With the special task to explore the problem of plastic and this most unwelcome makeover to beloved planet Earth, children and families discover their own power to change the future.

WHO: All ages welcome!

WHEN: Friday 22nd April, 10:30am, Chifley Shops Playground

TICKETS: Tickets are free, bookings essential for all family members.

Event information: 

Duration: 40 minute live dance and theatre performance 

Outdoor/open air performance, spatial distancing encouraged. Maximum 70 audience capacity 

Check in is required, and please sanitise on entry.

Children are to be supervised at all times.

Please make sure you bring:

  • Smartphone for COVID-19 Check in and ticket checks 
  • Sun protection, including shirt, hat and sunscreen.
  • Water to drink when it gets warm.
  • Your sense of adventure and creative spirit!

About the project

Escape From Plastika was developed with assistance from the Canberra Theatre Centre, University of Canberra and Ainslie School and is presented in partnership with ACT NO Waste, the Recyclpedia, Gungahlin Arts and Woden Arts.
