Who:EVERYONE - This is an event for the whole family, even your pets!
When:Saturday 25th November
Many thanks to all of our artists, performers and community partners who made this such a special event.
Tuggeranong Arts Centre will be celebrating the launch of the Horse Float of Ideas with a special Royal event on the banks of Lake Tuggeranong on Saturday 25th November from 10am to 2pm.
The Horse Float of Ideas is a unique, experimental art space created by local artists and community groups inside a repurposed horse float.
To welcome the float to Tuggeranong, the Arts Centre has planned a special community event called ‘Whatever Floats Your Horse’.
The event, which culminates TAC’s year-long artistic exploration of animals and our relationships with them, is a celebration of the Tuggeranong community and their furry, scaled and feathered friends.
Whatever Floats Your Horse will give Tuggeranong locals a chance to head down to the lakefront and enjoy a coffee or gelato and free entertainment by the water with our favourite Royal, The Queen herself.
Travelling with the Queen is much-loved Aboriginal Australian comedian Kevin Kropinyeri. While Kevin hosts the party, The Queen will honour local deserving corgis (and other mutts) in an official knighting ceremony.
Proud pet owners wishing to have such an honour bestowed upon their pampered pooches will need to ensure they put their best paw forward in order to impress Her Majesty.
In addition to the knighting of corgis, there are a number of other activities for local pets including, a beauty pageant searching for the ACT’s most eclectic family pet and a special pet photo booth for those creatures wanting to be the next viral sensation.
There will also be plenty of free activities for children including Hip Hop, rock painting and a giant progressive story.
On the main stage, a non-stop program of comedy, dance and live music will keep crowds entertained throughout the day.
Those looking to pick up a Christmas gift or wanting to hear more about Canberra’s animal welfare organisations will be catered for with a range of market stalls lining the edge of the lake.
