In order to best respond to and manage the current COVID-19 pandemic, Tuggeranong Arts Centre is implementing measures to assist with virus spread and containment. Therefore, the Arts Centre has made the difficult decision to stop hosting exhibition-openings. While we intend to continue to present a program of regular exhibitions; there will be no public events until further notice.
This measures forms part of the social responsibility we have as a public facility to protect our participants, staff, colleagues and any community members vulnerable to this virus. We intend to continue to present our program of regular exhibitions; however, there will be no public exhibition openings.
Through changing sound and movement this exhibition highlights the uniqueness of our relationships and interactions with the technology we use every day. The artworks include interactive and autonomous devices inviting interaction between the viewer and the artworks.
Some pieces use unusual movements or senses to be played, others sense the surrounding environment and make sound in response to it. The sculptures use a range of materials including timber, 3D printed plastic, recycled electronics and found items.
