MAGPIE’S NEST: ALL THAT GLITTERS WORKSHOP

Dates: Saturday 12 November

Times: Drop in between 10am-1pm

Age Suitability: The workshop is suitable for all ages. Anyone under 12 must be accompanied by a guardian at all times

Location: Gallery 2, Tuggeranong Arts Centre

This workshop is being held as the public program component of the All That Glitters exhibition.

Workshop description:

Step into the sparkly and playful world of All that Glitters and come on a creative journey with the artists to create your own personal works of art from found objects and ephemera.

There are no rules in this workshop – the artists will take you through a series of ideas and techniques you might want to use to create your work – as well as supporting you to develop your own creative process and create something that is truly unique and meaningful to you.

You are invited to bring along a selection of materials to play with, including some special items that you might like to transform with sparkle, and the artists will help you combine them in a way that is uniquely yours. Some basic materials will be supplied.

This workshop is suitable for people of all levels of creative experience – and open to anyone who wants to escape into a warm and entertaining world of sparkle for a few hours.

What should people bring?

Bring along a selection of materials from home you might like to work with and transform.  This could be anything from fancy wrapping paper, broken jewellery, buttons and beads, sequins, feathers, wire, fabrics and threads and anything else you can lay your hands on.
