The Make Art at TAC program offers term-based and casual art classes run by professional artists.


MAKERS TO MASTERS – HAND BUILDING CERAMICS WORKSHOP

  • Weekly art class for people aged 16 years and over
  • Wednesday 6:30pm – 8:30pm
  • Term three dates: Wednesday 20th July – Wednesday  24th August (6 weeks).
  • $300 for six week course

Join artists Emma Croker and Elspeth Rowell in a 6-week hand building ceramics workshop where you will learn the basics of working with clay. This well-rounded course builds on what was learnt in the previous week, so participants come away with a good amount of knowledge. Taking inspiration from natural forms and abstract sculptural pieces Emma and Elspeth will guide you through different processes and encourage creative expression!

  • Week 1: introduction to hand building, forming exercises 
  • Week 2: small vessel forming and surface additions
  • Week 3: larger vessel forming session
  • Week 4: refining and surface additions to week 3 vessels
  • Week 5: underglaze and wax resist 
  • Week 6: glaze objects
