Presented by Revival House Project, A Portrait of Mary Queen of Scots is a cross-disciplinary collaboration between emerging artists across art-song/lieder, live drawing, animation, projection and costume design, exploring the life and influence of Mary Queen of Scots.
Revival House Project will present a live performance of art-song/lieder by Louise Keast (soprano), Shikara Ringdahl (mezzo soprano), and Ella Luhtasaari (pianist) along with an animated accompaniment by Shags (visual artist) projected onto specially designed, tudor-inspired gowns created by Hue MacCulloch (fashion designer).
With this project, Revival House Project aims to broaden the scope of the traditional vocal recital format through exploring the subject matter manifest in the music through film/animation/projection.
Following the performance, a curated exhibition of costumes, animation and video documentation will be on display in the TAC gallery.
Performances: 7pm, Friday 24 August, and 5pm, Sunday 26 August
Exhibition: 28 August – 8 September
