Learn the secrets to making beautiful contact prints on silk and paper using eucalypts and other plants. Unwrap beautiful bundles of silk, paper and leaves from the dye pot and marvel at the variety of colours, shapes and imprints that remain. See the impact that different metals like iron and copper pipes, old tin cans and rusty objects like nails and washers can make on the colours and patterns.
Each participant will receive a silk scarf and some cotton-rag paper to dye.
The workshop tutor is Samantha Tannous, a fibre artist who makes sculptures from felt, printing, dyeing and found objects.
