Tuggeranong Arts Centre is delighted to present America’s foremost harmonica virtuoso, Phil Wiggins and legendary Australian blues guitarist/vocalist, Dom Turner on Thursday 19th of September as part of their 2019 Australian tour.
This trans-pacific duo is a recent collaboration of old friends and if you love ‘the Blues’ and enjoyed TAC’s Backsliders and Turner Brown Band gigs, this show is a must!
Phil Wiggins toured the world for the best part of 35 years with the Piedmont Blues duo Cephas & Wiggins. Dom Turner has played and toured for the last 30 years with the legendary Australian blues band, Backsliders.
In June 2014 Phil & Dom performed a critically acclaimed series of east Coast USA concerts, their first formal collaboration and included a set-list packed with Piedmont, Delta, & Hill Country blues. In October 2014 Phil was invited to the Great Southern Blues Festival in Narooma NSW, Australia to perform with Dom in their first Australian concert together. In early 2015 the duo toured the East Coast of Australia beginning at the Blue Mountains Music Festival and ending at Australia’s most prestigious blues festival, Bluesfest in Byron Bay where they were described as one of the 10 ‘must-see’ Bluesfest acts. 2016 saw the duo perform at the National Folk Festival, a series of performances that resulted in a re-invitation to perform at the National in 2017.
The Phil Wiggins & Dom Turner debut album ‘Owing the Devil a Day’s Work’ was released 27 February 2015 through Rocket Distribution (Australia) and through Itunes.

The ticket price of $35 also includes pre-show entertainment in the Lodge (and lakeside bar) with the Leisa Keen Trio from 7pm.
The Leisa Keen Trio is one of Canberra’s busiest and most popular jazz combos.
The trio plays a smooth blend of well known jazz tunes, and pop tunes with their own “jazz treatment” including 3 sets of “Postmodern Jukebox” styled arrangements, but they are equally at home playing Rock’N’Roll, Soul and Disco and Blues to dance the night away.
The trio, consisting of piano/vocals, drums and John Kackey on sax, is in constant demand for weddings and parties; however Leisa also brings 25 years of musical theatre and cabaret experience to the trio, adapting it to suit both cabaret and corporate events.
