Do you want to try stand-up comedy but just don’t know where to start? Well this comedy course is for you! Join Canberra comedian Chris Ryan for a short series of inclusive comedy workshops this August/ September.
Stand-up comedy is for all funny people. We particularly encourage budding comedians who are women, LGBTIQ+, people of colour or living with disability to sign up now! Suitable for absolute beginners and amateurs aged 16 and over, the workshops will give you the confidence and foundation skills to start performing stand-up comedy, covering fundamental skills such as writing, performance, stagecraft and developing your comedy persona.
Over the course of four weeks, you will work on a 5-minute set that you will deliver at an end of course performance. By signing up you are committing to attend all four classes, work on your comedy material and performing in the end of course show. There are no refunds if you drop out of the course.
Spaces are limited to 8 people to ensure personal feedback and attention and the course will only proceed if we reach a minimum of 5 people.
