When:Thursday 29 November, 6pm
The Lakeside Literary Lounge Series is an annual program of author talks, panel discussions, and readings, which highlight the creative talents of writers and the important contribution that they make to public discourse. The The Grapple Annual is the final event in our 2018 series which was programmed in response to the Arts Centre’s annual theme ‘Entropy,’ exploring a broad range of complex, contemporary social issues.
The Grapple Annual is a calendar-based anthology of prose, poetry, art and comics. It is the flagship publication of Canberra-based independent publisher Grapple Publishing. Each Annual is a diverse collection, with contributors from all over Canberra, across Australia and around the world. Only 365 numbered and dated copies of each Annual are printed (366 in leap years).
In 2014, Express Media awarded it Most Innovative New Project or Work by a young person or young persons, and in 2015, the first Annual was awarded the Small Press Network’s Most Underrated Book Award.
For this Lakeside Literary Lounge event, contributors to The Grapple Annual vol. 3 will read short excerpts from their work and partake in a Q&A about the anthology with editor Duncan Felton.
