In November, TAC will celebrate PRIDE in our community with a specially curated series of events, performances, and discussions by LGBTIQ artists to coincide with Canberra SpringOUT Pride Festival and Tuggeranong’s community festival SouthFest.
From music to comedy, cabaret, literature, poetry, ideas and more, this program will bring together some of the best and brightest LGBTIQ artists in Australia alongside Canberra’s own Queer* stars.
Panel: Queer Asian-Australian Creatives – Sunday 3rd November
Author and editor Benjamin Law, musician Shoeb Ahmad, and writer Sanna Wei in conversation with community organiser Yen Eriksen.
TuggersPRIDE Comedy Night – Friday 8th November
Celebrate PRIDE in Tuggeranong with some of the best queer comedians from the ACT, Australia and the world, headlined by Kiwi comedian Jake Howie.
TinaTALK: In conversation with Nic Holas – Wednesday 13th November
Activist, writer, and co-founder of The Institute of Many (TIM) Nic Holas will be in conversation with Ginger Gorman alongside the exhibition On Thin Ice.
Queer Stage @ SouthFest – Saturday 16th November
The highlight of the program will be the ‘Queer Stage’ at SouthFest – a main stage in the Tuggeranong town centre will feature a line-up of Queer* and First Nations artists from around Australia including Constantina Bush, Sean Choolburra, and The Merindas, and headlined by the multi-award winning Electric Fields.
Literary Lounge: Writing Queer History – Tuesday 19th November
A night of discussion and poetry exploring queer history with Graham Willett, Nigel Featherstone and Sandra Renew. Presented in partnership with Diversity ACT.
Trans Voices Cabaret – Call for EOIs (Dates TBC)
