Woden Activations

Tuggeranong Arts Centre’s Woden Arts Program is offering Quick Response Activations of up to $2,000 for independent professional practising artists or $5000-$10,000 for arts collectives or groups. Artists across all art forms are eligible to apply to support their creative endeavours.

Designed to activate the South Canberra region of Woden, this is an opportunity for artists to think creatively, showcase artistic practice and work with the Woden community. A final public outcome is recommended, however, a space nominated by the applicant in the Woden area must be activated as part of the project.

Applications should include community engagement. Collaborations and multi-artform proposals are encouraged.

Applicants must:

  • Have an Australian Business Number (ABN)
  • Be based in the ACT
  • Use the funds for arts based or related activities and outcomes in Woden (Chifley, Curtin, Farrer, Garran, Hughes, Isaacs, Lyons, Mawson, O’Malley, Pearce, Phillip, Torrens)

We are aiming to be as flexible as possible and will consider a wide range of requests, but can include:

  • Hosting workshops or community engagements
  • Performances, events or other public activations
  • Equipment or materials required to deliver the activity or development.

This funding will not support:

  • Competitions, awards, prizes, judging
  • Fundraising events
  • General operating expenses or ongoing costs of long-term continuous projects
  • Projects that have commenced or are completed
  • Activities which could be considered part of the curriculum for schools or tertiary institutions
  • Non-arts related activities.

  • Program opens on 27 February 2024
  • Applications close on 30 April 2024
  • Successful recipients will be notified by 17 May

Successful applicants need to return signed funding agreement with an invoice to Tuggeranong Arts Centre for the first instalment (half the agreed amount).  Final instalment at end of activation.

Projects can begin from 7 June 2024, following completion of agreement.
The expenditure needs to be completed by 30 October 2024
