NAIDOC Week Event in Woden Town Square

Come along and be part of the ACT Community Sector NAIDOC Week Event Heal Country, on Tuesday the 6th of July in the Woden Town Square. Enjoy live music, art workshops, stalls, and guest speakers between from 10:45am – 2pm (more details coming soon).

ART WORKSHOPS:

As part of the celebrations, Tuggeranong Arts Centre invites you to sign up for a jewellery making workshop with local artists Angela J. and Naomi Pisciotta from Emuly Gatherings. Angela and her assistant Naomi Pisciotta will be teaching you how to make gum nut and emu feather earrings and native necklaces.

Angela Pisciotta is the founder of Emuly (the gathering emu). Angela is from Wiradjuri and Kamilaroi country and has been teaching art workshops for a number of years. Book for one or two workshops happening in Woden Town Square on Tuesday the 6th of July.

Workshop 1:

  • Gum nut and emu feather earrings
  • 11:20am-12:20pm, Tuesday the 6th of July
  • $30 per person, maximum 8 people
  • Cost includes all workshop materials

  • An introduction to making native necklaces
  • 1pm-2pm, Tuesday the 6th of July
  • $30 per person, maximum 8 people
